Watercolor blocks, acrylic paper, oil paint paper, pastel paper and sketch blocks from good brands such as Winsor & Newton or Schut. These are brands with hundreds of years of experience and excellent quality. Bok-webshops has paper available in many different sizes, often glued per block and the best surface for every purpose.
Pastel always works best on specially made pastel paper with a special structure and different background colors per block.
Watercolor also requires special paper, usually 300 grams/m2, so that you can make as much gradient as you want with as much water as you need. Watercolor paper retains its shape no matter how much water you use.
Oil paint on paper with a special canvas structure to be able to paint with the finest oil paint as on a real canvas.
Acrylic paint paper is also suitable for other wet techniques and does not need gesso as on canvas and heavy quality 300 to 360 grams/m2.
Drawing paper blocks and sketch pads both glued and spiral are available in different quality and dimensions.
